Third Party Tools and Services
Below is a list of 3rd party computer applications and web-based services that are currently planned to be used in one or more of my scheduled classes. These sites require student information in order to have functional access to material presented on these sites. Care is taken to provide instruction to students about the content of user names and passwords to protect their privacy. Google Drive is a service provided by the district for each student and teacher. Their user name is based on their permanent ID number. The password can be changed to a password of their choosing. They will have access to this account as long as they are a registered student at VUSD. School site and district personnel have access to their user name and password. Through Google Drive, students will have access to a variety of apps and add-ons as approved by administration. Student accounts cannot receive emails or use a Google+ app through VUSD accounts. Google Classroom is part of the G Suite of programs used within VUSD's Google Drive accounts. It is used by teachers to post assignments and grades and for students to post completed assignments and comments. Privacy Policy

School Loop is VUSD district supported online grading and communication program. Teachers and administration will use School Loop to communicate with parents and students. Teachers will use School Loop to post assignments and grades. Students are given access to accounts that are site based. Students must register for their accounts, creating their own user name and password. Parents may access their student's grades and attendance, along with receiving emails about school events, when registering for a parent account attached to their student account via student ID number. Students will have access to a School Loop email for school use only, it cannot receive incoming outside email. Privacy Notice | User Agreement | Security & Data Policy

Typing.com is an online typing tool used to improve keyboarding skills. Students will use this tool to complete speed tests for Technology class. The teacher will create a user name and password for the students. It is free to use and students will be able to keep the account as long as they wish. Privacy Policy | Terms of Service

Nitro Type is an online keyboarding racing game. Students will create their own free account using their own user name and password. Use of this online program will be primarily in Technology classes. The account is theirs as long as they wish to keep it. Terms of Service | Privacy Policy

Brain Pop is an online video and quiz program provided by a 24/7 subscription through our school district. Students can access this at school or at home. This tool will be used throughout all my classes. Students will be responsible for creating their own user name and password, in addition to providing their first and last names for teacher access. If the student provides an email address, they can recover their own user name and password. A class code will be provided by the teacher so they can join individual classes. Code.org is an online program to engage students in computer science by providing coding experience. This program will be primarily used in my Technology classes. Students will create their own user name and password and will need to provide their name and age. A class code will be given to them so I can access their progress. Their account is free and is theirs as long as they wish. Privacy Policy
Scratch is an online program created by MIT for individuals to express themselves through coding. Creating a username and password is safe, using a valid email is acceptable and preferred. Terms of Use | Privacy Policy

Padlet is an online tool to collaborate and share ideas. Students will be using it to share information about the topic being discussed in the classroom. Content Policy | Privacy Policy

CA Career Zone is an online resource put together by the California Career Resource Network for people to explore their interests and potential career paths. Accounts are free and students are encouraged to keep their accounts after leaving class to be able to continue exploring careers. Privacy Policy | Info for Parents

Kahoot is an online game platform we use in class to check for understanding. Students cannot create their own account if under the age of 13, therefore they are merely users of the site. Privacy Policy

WeVideo is online video editing software that is a subscription service. Student have access to a paid account when they are enrolled in Video Production. Terms of Use | Privacy Policy
