Instructional Video Project

Objective: This video will be used to give instruction in something appropriate for students. It can be created from practical experience or learning a new hobby or activity. Or it can be a video that will be used in the classrooms at Jepson. It can be from 3-5 minutes long. You must get approval from your video teacher. If you do the classroom video, you will probably be working with the teacher whose classroom it will be used in.

Approval of subject by teacher

Completed storyboard – with script if necessary

Schedule complete – actors lined up, cameras reserved, location decided

Gather all necessary props and items for filming

Filming complete with all necessary takes

Editing

·        Cutting into segments

·        Adding titles and credits

·        FX, music and sound effects

·        Fits time frame – 5 minutes max, unless approved for over time.

Peer viewing done by:

Fellow student views film for errors

Submit "I Think I'm Ready Form" to teacher for improvement and corrections
Make corrections and improvements

Render movie to appropriate format - SAVE

Self-assessment of project

Turn in Video Production Rubric to teacher – notify of location of file include Self Evaluation Form

PE - How to do a proper push-up and pull up

Science - How a simple compound is formed

What are the different states of matter

Math - How to factor a quadratic equation

How to calculate the area of a triangle

History - Causes of World War II

How the Declaration of Independence was formed

Metals - Safety while forging metal

Art - Who are the artists of the impressionistic era

How to draw perspective

Cooking - How to make a cake from scratch

Computers and Video - Different shots and angles used in filming

Safety in the computer lab

English - Different kinds of poetry

The structure of Shakespeare's sonnets (iambic pentameter)
