History of Computers

You'll be watching a video in the classroom - History of the Computer produced by PBS. During the video, you will hear about many people who influenced and changed computers. Your task will be to research and present information about one of those people. You can also choose from a variety of web sites below, the person you wish to research.

Objective: Create a "wanted" posted about a Famous Technologist.

Following the handouts - worksheet/rubric and graphic organizer - given to you in class, create a 8.5 X 11" poster on your computer. Using the skills you have learned in word processing, cut and paste information from the internet.

The handouts are required to be turned in and will be part of your grade.

Follow this order for the best results:

Work with this order of tasks and it will flow smoothly:

·        Get approval for person

·        Gather information - completing your Graphic Organizer

·        Open your Word document for notes

·        Copy and paste information, including references – URL’s

·        Save the pictures, don’t copy and paste

·        Write/organize on graphic organizer chart

·        Create the poster

·        Check the spelling

·        Check list above to make sure that everything is included

·        Go to Print Preview to make sure it looks the way that you want

·        Print final product, hand in poster, this rubric and graphic organizer

Here are is an example of the types of poster you can create:

Include on each poster these items - Name, photo, born/died - place, famous for, 7 sentences explaining, place/company worked for, a quote or fact about the person.
