Lower Elementary WebQuests
Look at some of the WebQuests for the lower elementary grades. Although the format and structure of most of the WebQuests lend themselves to readers, we need to locate and structure WebQuests for the non and limited reader. These would also apply to non-english speakers/readers.
Begin with Bernie Dodge's site of K-3 WebQuests. He provides links to  sites with WebQuests for the lower grades.

Include directions on your WebQuest where the students are supposed to go to once they get to the site - especially if it is complicated.

Consider that when creating a graphics laden site, it will take more time to load. Put HTML files on your local server or computer for kids to access.

Even though your WebQuest may be appropriate for limited readers, what about the sites you have the children going to? Locating appropriate sites is half the trouble. Use a children's search engine to find sites.

Think about the final project(s) you have your students do. Involve technology in some way to make full use of the WebQuest structure. Include the assessment tool you will use to evaluate.
